Change in DIN

The DIN feature was initiated with the inclusion of section 266A -266G of Companies Amendment Act, 2006. DIN (Director Identification Number) is an 8-digit distinct Identification Number that is allocated to an individual who is either the present director of the company or intends to be one in the future. This feature not only helps in establishing the identity of the director but also aids in keeping a check on the track record of the director. Having a DIN is mandatory now and in case of any changes, the DIN holder needs to inform the same to the Central Government.

DIR-6 Form:

If there is any change in the particulars submitted in form DIR-3/SPICe with respect to Directors, the applicant can submit e-form DIR-6. For instance, in the event of a change of address of a director, he/she is required to intimate this change by submitting e-form DIR-6 along with the required attested document.

Digital Signature:

The e-Form DIR-6 is required to be digitally signed by the Applicant and further certified by a Chartered Accountant or a Company Secretary or a Cost Accountant in whole-time practice or company secretary (a member of ICSI)/Director of an existing company in which the applicant is proposed to be the director.
